I have used garlic water on aphids that were attacking our roses. I peeled heaps of garlic cloves and left them in a bottle water for week…..it worked, but a bit slower than chemicals.

I love all the critters that want to share my yard, I just don’t like it when they are NOT invited to eat out of my garden! For birds I collected all those C.D.’s we receive in the mail. You know the ones, “Get Started with AOL!”, etc. (Take them out of the package ppl.) Hang them around your garden.

I’ve been gardening organically for some time now and my yard has found a natural balance. I haven’t had to resort to any wacky remedies since the birds, spiders, ladybugs, and dog are doing a fine job keeping the pests under control :)

The rewards? I have a yard full of birds, butterflies, honeybees, and a zillion other little critters.

The most amazing garden I’ve had ….I planted each veggie day or night intuitively!…..on a low clearing in the forest by a river.

I made beautiful raised rows and let the weeds grow…(you can eat most of them you know!!)

The garden grew itself, and the food was amazing!

we of course played hand drums and sang in it too….and built stick structures and decorated sections with special rocks and shells….

it was fantastic!

so my most wackie remedy is to grow natural in the right location!

and have FUN doing it =) =) =)

Giant bull frogs shaded themselves under the Brussel sprouts

turtles laid eggs

a wolf ate the peas right off the plants (my pet and she asked first!)

oh!!!!! life can be SOOO GOOOD!!!!

As mentioned in my earlier answer to the question about indigenous vegetation, we are having a green cover in our factory,

We are manufacturing a antibiotic which is used against Tuberculosis, it’s a fermentation process, during the the process a waste is generated that is mycelium of the organism used for fermentation, in initial phase we really had a problem of disposal of this waste as it was having a bad odor, we worked in our environment division on the mycelium waste which is a organic waste and came up with a aerobic composting method which was a huge success, now we manufacture a product out of it called as biomanure, for our garden we use this product, also since it is a organic manure it is very good in nutrient contents resulting in good crop yields. since it is a byproduct we sell it to local farmers at minor cost.

I love my garden and it’s organic. The strangest yet simplest natural remedy that works in the garden is spraying weeds with vinegar. It breaks down the outer waxy substance on the leaf and lets the sun fry it. My greatest reward is letting my children and animals play in the yard without worrying how long it’s been since I sprayed.
